Provide quality instruction and site-based program coordination aligned to state and federal requirements associated with Career & Technical Education in the career field of Work-based Learning. Courses in this program are: 99201 Career Readiness Seminar, 99203 Career Planning & Development, 99205 Career Experience/Internship, 99204 International Baccalaureate Personal and Professional Skills. Implement rigorous inquiry-based learning tasks to engage students in deep content of the discipline in alignment with the appropriate career cluster and pathway.
Utilize a variety of assessment strategies - diagnostic, formative and summative, to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Instruction and Student Development- Create an educational environment that acknowledges and encourages multiple pathways to postsecondary success, including four-year degrees, two-year degrees, industry certifications, apprenticeships, military service, and employment.
- Teach Work-Based Learning courses covering workplace safety, career exploration, employability skills, professional communication, financial literacy, career planning, and job-readiness competencies.
- Develop and deliver curriculum aligned to Minnesota State Standards, district expectations, and Career and Technical Education program requirements.
- Utilize diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies to inform instruction and support student growth.
- Create safe, respectful, culturally responsive, and engaging learning environments that support the academic, social, emotional, and career development of all students.
- Assess students' developmental, cognitive, social, and career readiness needs and provide appropriate supports and interventions.
- Coordinate, place, and monitor students in internships, career experiences, job shadowing, mentoring opportunities, apprenticeships, and other approved work-based learning experiences.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain partnerships with employers, industry representatives, community organizations, workforce agencies, and postsecondary institutions.
- Conduct regular worksite visits to monitor student progress, evaluate training experiences, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Develop and maintain required training agreements, safety plans, learning objectives, worksite documentation, and performance evaluations in compliance with Minnesota Department of Education and district requirements.
- Serve as a liaison among students, families, employers, school staff, and district leadership to support successful work-based learning experiences.
- Support students to develop career goals, workplace skills, professional behaviors, and employment readiness competencies.
- Expand opportunities for career-connected learning through internships, guest speakers, industry tours, mentoring programs, and workplace learning experiences.
- Plan and coordinate career exploration events, field trips, worksite visits, and employer engagement activities.
- Work collaboratively with school counselors, teachers, administrators, and community partners to promote CTE pathways and student participation.
- Assist with student recruitment and outreach efforts that increase awareness of and participation in CTE and Work-Based Learning programs.
- Support implementation of Career and Technical Education programs in alignment with Perkins V requirements and state and federal accountability measures.
- Actively participate in CTE program evaluation, continuous improvement, and professional development activities.
- Participate in Career and Technical Education Advisory Committees and assist with recruitment and engagement of industry representatives and community members.
- Maintain accurate student, employer, and participation records using district and state reporting systems.
- Collect and maintain required documentation related to Perkins reporting, grant compliance, and partnership match or in-kind contributions.
