We are seeking an Outage Coordination Specialist to support electric distribution construction and maintenance activities by coordinating planned outages and developing safe, efficient switching procedures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are completed safely, minimizing customer impacts, and supporting timely execution of maintenance and capital work.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, experience coordinating operational activities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced utility environment.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage planned distribution system outages.
  • Develop and document switching procedures for construction and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all outage plans comply with established safety policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with construction, maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support project execution.
  • Review outage requests, assess impacts, and prioritize work based on operational requirements.
  • Communicate outage schedules, switching activities, and project status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of outages, switching plans, and operational activities.
  • Support efforts to minimize project delays and customer service impacts.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, and operational risks and elevate as needed.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts related to outage planning and coordination processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in utility operations, outage coordination, switching procedures, project coordination, or related functions.
  • Strong understanding of safety policies, operational procedures, and work planning practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
