Role Description
We’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Engineering and Technical Services to lead innovation, safety, and reliability across our aircraft maintenance programs. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead with vision:
Oversee Engineering, Fleet Reliability, Maintenance Programs, and Condition-Based Maintenance to ensure industry-leading safety and performance. - Drive continuous improvement:
Optimize maintenance strategies to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and support operational excellence. - Strengthen partnerships:
Serve as the primary technical liaison with OEMs and industry groups to influence best practices and product improvements. - Empower teams:
Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers, analysts, and managers to deliver results and foster innovation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership in a FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance environment.
- Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, engineering processes, and aircraft reliability programs.
- A collaborative, analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex challenges.

Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an aviation-related technical field, or equivalent related work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience required.
- 10 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance operations preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), aircraft reliability analysis methodologies, engineering processes, and maintenance program effectiveness
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in refining and implementing effective processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Experience working effectively with and managing a diverse and inclusive workforce.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
