Company Overview
Glocomms is partnering with a top commercial utilities organization to find a Network Infrastructure Engineer to help them with modernizing the technology ecosystem and expanding its infrastructure across multiple office locations. The Network Infrastructure Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our hybrid infrastructure. You'll work closely with leadership, contribute to long‑term technology strategy, and help mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud/on‑premises infrastructure (Azure/Entra , Active Directory, enterprise networking).
- Manage VMware environments, including Horizon VDI, ESXi clusters, HA/DRS, and vCenter.
- Administer endpoint security tools and support cybersecurity initiatives (vulnerability assessments, incident response).
- Support major IT projects such as application rewrites, internal tool maintenance, and system integrations.
- Lead infrastructure and network buildouts for new office locations, including hardware deployment and vendor coordination.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues; participate in an on‑call rotation.
- Develop and maintain documentation such as runbooks, procedures, and security policies.
- Evaluate and coordinate with third‑party vendors for managed services and backup solutions.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to long‑term infrastructure strategy.
- 7+ years in network or infrastructure engineering; 3+ years in a senior‑level role.
- Strong experience with Azure/Entra , Active Directory, enterprise networking, and hybrid environments.
- Hands‑on expertise with VMware Horizon View (VDI), VMware ESXi, HA/DRS, and vCenter.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools (Crowd Strike, Threat Locker, Abnormal AI) and incident response practices.
- Experience with migrations, integrations, or technical buildouts.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, Azure, CompTIA, VMware) are a plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Strong troubleshooting, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and adaptable.
