Electrical Designer Job Description
The Electrical Designer will support and design one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts for switch gear, panel boards, and electrical power distribution equipment. The role focuses on ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of products and processes while meeting and exceeding company quality and production standards as well as customer documentation and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities- Design one-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts for low voltage and medium voltage switch gear assemblies.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and customer specifications.
- Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
- Collaborate within a project management structure to ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements.
- Receive directions from mentors to create accurate designs.
- Experience in electrical design, specifically with AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, or Solid Works electrical tools and libraries.
- Knowledge of UL, NEC standards related to switch gear and power distribution.
- Ability to design and interpret schematics and control panels.
Skills & Qualifications
- AAS in a relevant engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of engineering or technical experience.
- Experience or coursework in schematic or one-line design, wiring assemblies, wire processing, and panel layouts.
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems through collaboration and innovative thought.
- Experience related to renewables, emerging energy markets, data centers, battery systems, stored energy, and charging stations is a plus.
The role is situated within both office and manufacturing environments, allowing for comprehensive exposure to both design and implementation processes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
