Summary:Setup, operate, dis-assemble and clean process equipment and systems for pilot scale testing under supervision of the Pilot Plant Manager, Application Engineer, or as directed by management. Includes plumbing and running of process utility lines (hot oil, steam, water, electrical, etc.). Works with and handles a variety of materials used in solids-based processes.
We are looking to fill 2 positions, 1 for 1st shift and 1 for 2nd shift.
Start Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 hourly
Responsibilities:- Safety – work in a safe manner, be observant of the surrounding environment and conduct process safety reviews.
- Review test paperwork and ask questions. Test paperwork includes test request forms, PFD’s, P&’s, SDS’s.
- Pull from storage, inspect, ready and setup process equipment, instrumentation, and controls. Includes installation of instrumentation, utility plumbing, valves, insulation, guarding, etc.
- Conduct mechanical checkout of equipment / system with the Application Engineer. Correct issues as they arise.
- Calibrate and operate process feeders / pumps. Collect product from the equipment / system.
- Operate equipment / system as directed by the Application Engineer during testing. Change internal equipment configurations during testing as directed. Complete appropriate test paperwork, including equipment settings, feed/product rates.
- Take samples and label during the test as directed by the Application Engineer.
- Observe, record and report equipment operation and conduct equipment inspections after running.
- Disassemble equipment / system, clean and put into storage. Collect, weigh, and label all materials as directed by the Test Engineer.
- Aid the Application Engineer when conducting inventory of all materials before and after testing and in placement of all barrels/boxes on pallets.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
- The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside of the Process Development Center to access machinery and attend on site meetings.
- Constantly operates a process equipment and other productivity machinery such as a feeder, copy machine and computer printer.
- Frequently ascends/descends a ladder or stairs during pilot testing.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Must be able to identify process and material handling issues during equipment/process inspections.
- Occasionally moves equipment and materials weighing up to fifty pounds in the process area for process needs.
- Occasionally exposed to classified hazardous areas. Must be able to do appropriate personal protective equipment and work in these areas.
- Must be able to travel to domestic or international jobs sites 10% of the time or less.
