Validation Engineer Job Description
As a Validation Engineer, you will be a vital member of the Engineering Approvals Team, focusing on obtaining and maintaining product compliance with industry regulations. Your role involves detailed product analysis, hands‑on testing, and developing test strategies to verify compliance. You will also interact with regulatory agencies to prepare submission materials for certification.
Responsibilities- Interpret and apply applicable safety and performance standards.
- Participate in sustaining and new product development teams to document global hazardous location and performance requirements.
- Develop test and certification strategies to meet compliance requirements.
- Create test plans and oversee the interpretation of test results in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Prepare technical justifications and documents to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards.
- Interface with third‑party certification agencies and manage projects with them.
- Write and execute test protocols according to approval standards, record results, and write test reports.
- Test engineering and product testing expertise.
- Strong understanding of requirements analysis and validation.
- Proficiency in test plan creation and execution.
- Experience with software, firmware and hardware testing.
- Ability to read and interpret requirements and troubleshoot bugs.
- Familiarity with test equipment and electrical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Python for test development.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related field required; BSEE or CS preferred.
- 5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical verification and validation product testing.
- At least 5 years of experience in standards‑based testing, particularly environmental testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is highly preferred.
- Experience in the design and certification of products for hazardous locations.
- Knowledge of hazardous location and performance standards such as FM, CSA, ATEX, IECEx.
This role is based on‑site, offering a long‑term position with two weeks of PTO and holidays according to the schedule. The work involves collaboration with internal teams and third‑party certification agencies in a professional environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
- Pay range: $44.00 - $58.00/hr.
