Electrical Engineer supports development, testing, fabrication, and fielding of highly complex equipment
Responsibilities- Researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems and components.
- Utilizing advanced modeling and analysis tools to develop product specifications, models, simulations, technical data packages, and integration and verification procedures.
- Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services, and their ability to deliver required products or services.
- The qualified candidate will work under the general direction of a project engineering lead to perform electrical system design on a variety of military systems, ranging from combat vehicles, gun systems, and guided munitions.
- The Electrical Engineer provides detailed engineering analysis of components, subsystems, and systems for military product applications.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field and minimum 3 years of relevant experience or 2+ years with a Master's degree.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems that require a professional level of engineering knowledge.
- Experience in creating, reading, and comprehending schematics and interconnect drawings.
- Ability to create and manage interface control documents.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation (PSpice or LTspice).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey data, information, and technical results to customers.
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
- Experience developing technical documentation - such as drawings, reports, & technical analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, and LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with computer programming languages, e.g., C, C#, Lab Windows/CVI.
- Working knowledge of OrCAD and Visio, circuit board schematic & layout tools.
- Familiarity with design for components in a high EMI environment.
- Systems Engineering and manufacturing knowledge.
- Experience with engineering design of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems.
- Experience with integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and development of electronic control logic.
- Experience with developing and integrating power generation, conversion, and storage solutions.
- Experience in the development and integration of ammunition handling/loading systems, including autoloaders and large caliber rammer systems.
