Our client, located in the Northern Suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota area, is looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team due to continued growth. Position is a full-time direct hire opportunity with a very competitive salary, great benefits and working with an amazing team.
ResponsibilitiesOur client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for the design and development of control systems for their actuator product lines. This high-profile role focuses on integrating electronics with mechanical assemblies, improving product performance, and supporting production with advanced troubleshooting and testing. The chosen candidate will work in cross-functional teams to ensure our products deliver reliable, precise, and repeatable motion across a wide range of customer applications.
- Design and develop electrical circuits, control boards, and sensor systems used in electro-mechanical actuators.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and system-level documentation.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize actuator performance, including motor selection, feedback devices, and power requirements.
- Support design validation through testing, data analysis, and performance verification against specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues in prototypes and production units to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Work with manufacturing teams to improve build quality, streamline assembly, and enhance overall product reliability.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, fixtures, and electrical quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement, cost-reduction, and product modernization initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design, testing, or product development, preferably with electromechanical systems or motion control products.
- Strong understanding of analog/digital circuits, motor control (DC/BLDC/stepper), sensors, and power electronics.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (Altium, OrCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
- Experience working with feedback devices such as encoders and position sensors.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory considerations for electrical products.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with actuators or motion control systems.
- Familiarity with embedded systems or PLC controls.
- Understanding of EMI/EMC design considerations.
- Background in reliability or design-for-manufacturing.
- Background in actuator or motion control product development.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware basics, or PLC-based control.
- Experience with EMI/EMC considerations and design practices.
- Understanding of reliability engineering, FMEA, and design-for-manufacturability principles.

- Annual base salary: $110K to $145K depending on experience.
