The Process Engineer evaluates existing processes, materials, and equipment, manages the introduction of new equipment and products, and drives improvements through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
+ Support and lead daily line support activities to maintain safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing operations.
+ Act as a specialist for the assigned production area and make timely decisions that ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
+ Evaluate current processes, materials, and equipment to ensure alignment and compatibility with the facility's operating philosophy.
+ Manage new equipment implementation by performing justification calculations, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compatibility with existing facilities and processes.
+ Develop and provide cost estimates for new products to support budgeting and planning activities.
+ Collaborate with new product development teams to ensure new concepts are compatible with existing equipment and manufacturing capabilities.
+ Build strong internal relationships and promote ongoing communication with other sites and cross-functional teams.
+ Manage efficiency and quality metrics for the assigned area, monitoring performance and taking immediate corrective actions when metrics deviate from targets.
+ Lead large cross-functional project teams to drive process improvements, equipment integration, and other strategic initiatives.
+ Create and modify routings and bills of materials to accurately reflect manufacturing processes and requirements.
+ Program production equipment in the assigned area, including press brakes, lasers, mills, lathes, rotomold equipment, and robotic welders.
+ Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product quality.
+ Use CAD/CAM tools and MS Office applications to document processes, analyze data, and support engineering decisions.
+ Ensure that all process changes and equipment modifications are documented and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, preferably in Manufacturing or a related field.
+ 3-5 years of experience in production or industrial engineering, preferably within a metal fabrication environment such as sheet metal, welding, machine shop, paint, or rotomold operations.
+ At least 2 years of demonstrated ability to execute projects to established timelines.
+ Experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of CAD/CAM software and assembly processes.
+ Proficiency with MS Office applications for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
+ Lathe machining experience in a production or fabrication setting.
+ Proven ability to program production equipment such as press brakes, lasers, mills, lathes, rotomold equipment, and robotic welders.
+ Strong track record of innovation, ingenuity, and creativity in solving engineering and process challenges.
+ High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability.
+ Willingness to seek out and take on new challenges within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Additional
