About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced FPGA engineer looking to work on advanced defense electronics and mission-critical hardware systems. In this role, you’ll contribute across the full FPGA/ASIC development lifecycle, including architecture definition, simulation, verification, integration, and technical leadership.

You’ll work within highly collaborative engineering teams developing sophisticated electronic systems that support cutting-edge national defense technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Define, design, verify, and document FPGA and/or ASIC developments
  • Develop system architectures and detailed design approaches
  • Define module interfaces and device-level simulations
  • Execute FPGA/ASIC development processes including:
    • High-level design
    • Synthesis
    • Place and route
    • Timing analysis
    • Power utilization analysis
  • Create test and simulation plans to validate functionality and performance
  • Verify test results and analyze hardware/system performance
  • Support component selection and equipment evaluation based on reliability and performance requirements
  • Review vendor technologies, device libraries, foundry capabilities, and simulation tools
  • Contribute to process improvements within FPGA/ASIC engineering organizations
  • Support engineering lifecycle processes using established standards, procedures, and tools
  • Research and analyze technical requirements and design feasibility
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers when needed
  • Plan and execute project tasks independently with limited supervision
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Related STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant FPGA/ASIC engineering experience
    • OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Strong background in FPGA architecture, design, and verification
  • Experience with FPGA design tools and simulation environments
  • Understanding of full FPGA/ASIC development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
