Onsite Flexibility:
Hybrid 2 to 3 days per week in the Plymouth office; open to remote for non-local candidates

Job Summary

This role is a technical training position focused on delivering instruction for CYME software, a highly technical power engineering platform used by utility and infrastructure customers. The ideal candidate will learn the software within 34 months and then take over delivery of monthly virtual trainings to the client s customers. All training is delivered virtually to customers. The position requires a strong background in adult learning, instructional design, or a technical engineering discipline, with power engineering knowledge becoming increasingly required over time.

Initial training will be virtual, with potential for in-person delivery depending on the candidate s capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver virtual training for CYME software, covering foundational and advanced functionality. Facilitate hands-on exercises, labs, and real-world scenarios to reinforce learning and practical application.
  • Translate complex electrical engineering and power system concepts into clear, learner-friendly instruction.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training materials, including presentations, lab guides, exercises, and job aids.
  • Assess learner understanding during training sessions and adjust delivery to accommodate varying skill levels.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Support teams to ensure training content aligns with current functionality and best practices.
  • Gather and analyze learner feedback to continuously improve course content, delivery methods, and overall training effectiveness.
  • Maintain training readiness, including lab environments, datasets, and training configurations.
  • Support development of blended learning solutions, including self-paced or eLearning content, as needed. Stay current on CYME product updates, industry standards, and utility best practices to ensure training remains relevant and accurate.
  • Track training activities and outcomes in designated systems or reports, as required.
Required Skills
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to teach technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with power engineering terms such as KW, transmission, and generation.
  • Ability to learn and deliver training on highly technical software (CYME or equivalent).
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution/transmission fundamentals (e.g., load flow, short circuit, protection, reliability, grounding, integration studies).
  • Familiarity with adult learning frameworks.
  • Prior customer-facing experience supporting enterprise implementations or software.
  • Experience with CYME software (highly desirable candidates from utility companies may also be familiar with it).
  • Application engineering or field application/field engineering experience.
  • Experience at utilities or energy companies (e.g., Duke Energy, XL Energy) or competitor companies such as Siemens or Honeywell.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor s Degree required.
  • Engineering degree preferred;
    Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree is ideal.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor s degree with a strong background in adult learning, instructional design, training, or workforce education is acceptable.
Required Experience
  • 3 years of experience with an engineering degree, OR 5 or more years of experience without an engineering degree but with electrical sector experience.
  • Previous experience in customer enablement, training delivery, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience working at utilities, energy companies, or competitor companies such as Siemens or Honeywell.
  • Field application or field engineering experience.
Work Environment /

Physical Requirements
  • A flexible hybrid schedule requires the candidate to be in the Plymouth office 2 to 3 days per week.
  • Initial training will be virtual, with potential for in-person delivery depending on the candidate s capacity.
  • Interview process:
    Teams meeting with an additional colleague and manager.
  • Day shift, standard business hours (approximately 8:00 AM 4:30 PM).
