- Gather direct feedback from the field on issues encountered
- Observe structural work in progress and support quality oversight
Must Haves:
- 5–7 years of relevant structural engineering experience

- Focusing on structural work – mostly concrete and steel that make up the dam and related structures
- Splitting time between the office and the construction site
- Helping solve technical problems that come up during construction (e.g., “Can we build it this way?” “Does this match the design?”)
- Coordinating between the designers (engineering firm) and the builders (construction company) to make sure the work is safe, correct, and high quality
- Helping organize and review drawings, reports, and paperwork, including some that go to regulators
- Provide structural engineering support with a focus on:
- Heavy structural steel and large reinforced concrete components
- Dam and spillway structures and associated civil/structural works
- Perform technical review of:
- Design submittals, drawings, and specifications
- Contractor submittals, RFIs, and transmittals
- Interface with an external engineering firm responsible for detailed design and ongoing technical support, helping translate field conditions and needs into clear engineering actions.
- Assist the project manager and lead structural engineer with:
- Tracking and organizing technical documentation and communications
- Managing project submittals, transmittals, and regulatory filings
- Supporting planning and coordination for upcoming construction phases
- Help maintain clear, well‑organized project records, especially for regulatory filings and FERC‑related documentation.
