About the Role
Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Stormwater Engineer with a wide variety of related experience to add to our Environmental Engineering team. As a Professional Within Our Environmental Services Practice, this position will support the development and growth of our Stormwater Engineering services and engineering team as well as participate in a wide variety of environmental engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be highly self‑motivated with a strong commitment to making our clients successful.
- Performing design of environmental systems and facilities from the conceptual phase through design completion and construction.
- Working with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting environmental plans, designs, and production drawings according to budget constraints, regulatory requirements, or client needs.
- Researching and compiling of project‑related data as required by the project managers.
- Leading and supporting environmental or civil projects or tasks which may include earthwork/grading, stormwater, wastewater, remediation, waste management, and restoration.
- Preparing reports, studies, and cost estimates to help clients evaluate options and provide solutions.
- Project management duties such as developing and executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and managing client expectations.
- Providing construction phase support and preparation of construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.
- Training/mentoring staff.
- Developing new and maintaining existing client and regulatory relationships.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 7 years of civil or environmental engineering experience (consulting preferred).
- PE licensure preferred.
- Available for travel as necessary (approximately 15% travel).
- Strong knowledge in standard environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and environmental analysis programs).
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving skills.
$ - yearly. The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
