We are seeking a Director of Software Engineering - Verification to lead quality engineering across a portfolio of connected medical device platforms, including Device Managers, Patient Monitors, and Information Systems & Services (ISS).
In this role, you will shape and scale our PCS
2.0 Verification Engineering organization—automation-first, AI-enabled, and deeply embedded in Dev Ops delivery pipelines—to accelerate innovation while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
This position is in Mounds View, MN. within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) unit. At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

** Software Engineering

** role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
** Define the Future of Verification Engineering*
* • Lead and execute a PCS-wide Verification Engineering strategy aligned to platform modernization, Dev Ops, and Medtronic quality systems  
• Champion automation-first and data-driven approaches aligned to the Software Confidence
** Model and DRM practices*
* • Influence quality strategy across multiple platforms, programs, and global teams  Scale Automation & Dev Ops Integration  
• Own end-to-end verification across system integration, platform validation, APIs, UI, and data layers  
• Build and scale automation frameworks embedded in CI/CD pipelines  
• Ensure robust validation of functional and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, scalability, security)
** Advance AI-Enabled Verification Engineering*
* • Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing and quality analytics  
• Enable capabilities such as automated test generation, intelligent regression prioritization, and defect prediction  
• Ensure responsible, compliant use of AI in a regulated environment
** Deliver System & Platform Excellence*
* • Oversee validation of complex, cloud-connected medical ecosystems (e.g., Care Link/ ISS platforms)  
• Ensure interoperability, data integrity, and resilience across interconnected systems  
• Elevate platform-level confidence in increasingly distributed architectures
** Drive Measurable Outcomes*
* • Define and improve key metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), defect escape rates, and automation maturity  
• Increase release predictability and reduce cycle time  
• Strengthen audit readiness and compliance posture
