Senior Project Manager - Medical Device (NPD Focus) Overview
A leading medical device contract manufacturer is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-visibility new product development (NPD) initiatives. This role is ideal for a strategic, client‑facing leader who can guide programs from concept through commercialization while aligning cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
You will own project execution end-to-end-including timelines, budgets, and resources-ensuring delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams to drive product development programs from concept through commercialization
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external clients; manage communication and expectations throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and internal quality systems
- Foster strong collaboration across engineering, operations, quality, and customer stakeholders
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks to maintain timelines and deliverables
- Conduct project reviews and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned
- Partner with commercial teams to support business development efforts, including project scoping and feasibility assessments
- Mentor and support junior project managers in best practices and program execution
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of project/program management experience in the medical device or highly regulated industry
- Proven experience leading complex NPD programs through the full product development lifecycle
- Strong client‑facing experience, with the ability to own and grow stakeholder relationships
- Development engineering background strongly preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with FDA regulations; experience with 510(k) submissions is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
