Overview

Project Manager – Healthcare Construction (HVAC/MEP)

Location: Twin Cities, MN

Industry: Mechanical Contractor (Design-Build / Healthcare)

We’re partnering with a leading mechanical contractor to bring on a Senior Project Manager specializing in healthcare projects. This role will lead complex HVAC/MEP construction projects across hospital systems, surgical centers, and critical care environments.

This is a high-impact position working directly with owners, field teams, and executive leadership to drive project success from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Lead healthcare-focused HVAC/MEP projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
  • Oversee project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Drive preconstruction efforts including estimating, value engineering, and design-assist services.
  • Coordinate closely with BIM/VDC teams for clash detection and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
What You ll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC project management.
  • Strong background delivering healthcare or mission-critical projects.
  • Experience working for a mechanical contractor or MEP design-build firm.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project financials.
  • Familiarity with infection control practices (ICRA), project phasing, and active hospital environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Large hospital, surgical suite, or medical campus project experience.
  • Exposure to BIM/VDC workflows, including Revit and Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of codes and compliance requirements specific to healthcare construction.
