Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing the calibration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all measurement and test equipment (M&TE) used within the organization. It ensures compliance with internal quality standards, industry regulatory requirements, and customer expectations by managing tracking, scheduling, documentation, and accuracy of calibrated instruments.

Responsibilities Calibration Program Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s calibration and metrology program.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of calibrated instruments—including selection, onboarding, calibration scheduling, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain a reliable calibration tracking system that ensures all M&TE are calibrated on time and documented properly.
  • Review calibration certificates for completeness, traceability, and conformance to national/international standards (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 17025).
Measurement Systems Analysis
  • Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities including Gage R&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies.
  • Evaluate measurement uncertainty and determine appropriate equipment for production, testing, and inspection needs.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100).
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and suppliers to resolve calibration‑related nonconformances.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as the metrology/calibration subject‑matter expert.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate and qualify new measurement technologies and calibration service providers.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to metrology and calibration.
  • Train personnel on proper use, handling, and storage of calibrated equipment.
  • Evaluate areas to realize cost efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Data & Documentation
  • Maintain detailed calibration records, certificates, traceability logs, and equipment history.
  • Track and analyze calibration trends, failure rates, and recurring issues to drive process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in metrology, calibration engineering, quality engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience managing calibrated instruments in a manufacturing, laboratory, or regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of measurement principles, dimensional metrology, and calibration processes.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements.
  • Proficiency with calibration management software (e.g., GAGEtrak, Pro Cal, Indy Soft, or equivalent).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • High attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Minimal to no travel. First shift.

The anticipated base pay range for this full‑time position in this location is $77,515.00 – $ per year, plus potential for annual bonus.
