Sky Water is partnering with a growing engineering firm in the Minneapolis area who’s looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team! This person will have the opportunity to work on one‑of‑a‑kind projects from concept through installation. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design complex, mechanized structures for clients across a variety of industries (entertainment, aerospace / defense, etc.) and will work on projects across the United States.

- Perform mechanical design work including detailed calculations, component selection, and development of custom assemblies (drive systems, gears, linear & rotary motion components, structural weldments, etc.).
- Engage in design reviews and technical meetings with external project stakeholders.
- Oversee prototype development and testing activities.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams on design projects (engineering teams, purchasing/procurement, manufacturing, etc.).
- Identify opportunities to improve product designs and work with leadership to make these improvements.
- Occasional travel to project sites (mainly domestic and around 10% travel).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, design engineering, project engineering or a related engineering position(s).
- Experience designing large, custom mechanical equipment is preferred.
- Experience with Solid Works or similar CAD software.
