Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Entry-Level Civil Engineer (EIT) | Build Communities. Build Your Career.
See projects move from sketches and site visits to permits, construction, and ribbon cuttings-often within your first year.

At Landform, you'll do more than support projects. You'll help shape the places where people live, work, shop, and connect.

As an Entry-Level Civil Engineer, you'll work alongside civil engineers, planners, land surveyors, landscape architects, and development professionals in a collaborative studio environment where learning happens across disciplines-not just within one studio.

Simply put, you'll help design projects that actually get built-not just drawings that sit on a screen.

We're looking for an on-site Civil Engineer (EIT or 0-3 years of experience), based in the Minneapolis, MN area, who wants hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and an accelerated path toward becoming a well-rounded engineering professional.

Why Early-Career Engineers Choose Landform
  • What makes Landform different is the opportunity to gain broad project exposure, collaborate with multiple disciplines, and see how projects move from concept through construction.
  • Rather than focusing on a single piece of the process, you'll have opportunities to understand how engineering decisions connect to planning, surveying, landscape architecture, permitting, development, and construction.
  • You'll contribute to projects that may include retail developments, commercial expansions, mixed-use sites, medical campuses, community-focused developments, and other projects that help shape communities throughout Minnesota.
  • For early-career engineers, that broad exposure can help accelerate professional growth and provide valuable perspective that lasts throughout an entire career.
What You'll Actually Do
  • Support retail and commercial land development projects from concept through construction
  • Assist in preparing site plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage plans, erosion control plans, and construction documentation
  • Perform grading design, stormwater calculations, utility coordination, and site development engineering tasks
  • Contribute to plan production using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Participate in site investigations, zoning research, utility coordination, and project meetings
  • Take on increasing ownership of project components as your experience grows
What You'll Gain
  • Exposure to how projects move from idea → design → approval → construction
  • Accelerated experience that often takes years to gain in more specialized environments
  • Direct collaboration with engineers, planners, surveyors, landscape architects, and development professionals
  • Opportunities to contribute in a visible and meaningful way as part of a collaborative team
  • Mentorship from experienced project managers, senior engineers, and firm leadership who are invested in helping you grow professionally
  • Professional development support and a clear path toward PE licensure
  • The opportunity to work on projects you can point to and say, "I helped build that."
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • 0-3 years of experience (internships included)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
  • Basic understanding of site design, grading, stormwater, and construction documentation
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong interest in land development, site design, or civil infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT certification or on track to obtain
  • Exposure to commercial site design or land development projects
Why Landform
  • Studio-based collaboration across multiple disciplines
  • Exposure to the full project lifecycle
  • Diverse and meaningful projects across Minnesota
  • More than 30 years of helping clients bring successful projects to life
  • A collaborative environment where early-career professionals work directly with experienced engineers, project managers, and leadership
  • Professional development, licensure support, and advancement opportunities
  • A modern downtown Minneapolis office designed to support teamwork, mentorship, and innovation
Benefits
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO)
  • Profit…
