A leading industrial automation and process control solutions provider is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across a variety of process industries. This customer-facing role combines control systems engineering, troubleshooting, commissioning, consulting, and technical support
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to deliver automation solutions that improve plant reliability, safety, efficiency, and performance. Typical customer environments include oil & gas facilities, refineries, chemical plants, pharmaceutical manufacturers, power generation sites, water treatment facilities, paper mills, and metals processing operation
Key Responsibilities Customer Support & Technical ServicesUnderstand customer objectives and provide effective technical solution.
- Support industrial automation and control systems throughout their lifecycle.
- Perform control system configuration, commissioning, startup, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot distributed control systems (DCS), instrumentation, networking, and related automation equipment.
- Conduct basic to advanced process loop tuning and performance optimization.
- Integrate control systems with PLCs, drives, and industrial communication networks.
- Support operational technology (OT) cybersecurity initiatives and system maintenance.
- Establish and troubleshoot industrial Ethernet networks.
- Recommend and implement digital transformation technologies, operational analytics platforms, and plant performance solutions.
- Develop automation and process control solutions based on customer requirements.
- Design, test, and validate system modifications and upgrades.
- ades Utilize backup systems, virtual environments, and remote access tools to support projects.
- Participate in system modernization and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Deliver operator and maintenance training programs.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support via phone, video, and onsite engagement.
- Produce professional engineering reports and recommendations.
- Serve as a primary technical contact for customer accounts.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, and additional services.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation, Controls, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Approximately 2 - 6 years of experience in industrial automation, process control, or control systems engireering.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs, industrial networking, instrumentation, and process automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
PLC programming and integration - Process Instrumentation
- PID loop tuning and process optimization
- Industrial Ethernet and networking
- OT cybersecurity
- System commissioning and startup
- Industrial software platforms and operational analytic tools
- Windows server and workstation administration
