In this role, you will plan and conduct compliance audits and advisory activities across Koch businesses. You will collaborate with site and business partners, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable insights to accelerate practical, sustainable improvements. The role is well‑suited for a professional with a strong technical foundation, practical manufacturing experience, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively across the organization, are important. The position does not have direct reports, and the candidate should be near an international airport (preferably on the Eastern half of the United States) because up to 50% of travel is required. You will be comfortable challenging norms respectfully, grounded in sound environmental risk‑management principles, and motivated to create value through innovation and capability building.

What

You Will Do
  • Execute environmental compliance audits and advisory activities, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting while helping sites understand why opportunities are identified.
  • Evaluate site programs and operations to identify risks, compliance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop clear, concise, and actionable audit observations.
  • Coach and mentor facility personnel and business leaders to support continuous improvement, create value, and build internal capability.
  • Work directly with site personnel to understand root causes and connect findings to practical actions.
  • Contribute to the implementation of tools and processes that drive consistency across audits and improve audit processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in initiatives that enhance audit effectiveness and value delivery to stakeholders.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Demonstrated capability in environmental compliance program development and oversight (e.g., water, waste, air).
  • Hands‑on experience supporting EH&S programs in manufacturing, with the ability to recognize challenges unique to that environment.
  • Ability to articulate EH&S concepts clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
  • Implement and support the usage of current and emerging technologies to analyze data that provide perspectives on risk‑related themes.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, or enable others to build capability within an organization.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, including some international travel.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Environmental compliance auditing experience and/or training that helps manufacturing sites improve self‑assessment programs.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems and practical ways to strengthen them.
  • Compliance certification/s (e.g., CPEA).
  • Air regulatory knowledge, including ownership of a site’s air program.
  • Experience in the petro‑chemical industry.
  • Ability to think holistically about processes and propose unconventional yet practical solutions.
  • Experience with software and tools for EH&S management, such as compliance tracking systems, incident reporting platforms, or audit management systems.
