Role SummaryThis senior‑level position provides leadership in air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting. The role involves guiding clients through complex regulatory frameworks, overseeing technical analyses, managing air modeling assignments, and ensuring environmental requirements are met at the federal, state, and local levels.
Key Responsibilities- Lead air permitting tasks, including development, review, and submission of permit documentation.
- Conduct and oversee emissions calculations for normal operations and non‑routine scenarios.
- Perform and guide air dispersion modeling using EPA‑approved tools such as AERMOD.
- Support preparation of multi‑media environmental plans (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, EPCRA‑related plans).
- Provide technical direction to project teams and mentor less‑experienced staff.
- Assist in proposal development including scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; support business development efforts.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety policies.
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, depending on degree type.
- Strong background in air permitting, emissions evaluations, and air compliance frameworks.
- Solid knowledge of Clean Air Act requirements and associated regulatory programs (e.g., NSR/PSD, NESHAP, NSPS, Title V).
- Experience performing or reviewing air dispersion modeling (AERMOD).
- Prior consulting experience.
- Ability to bring or grow client relationships.
- Experience conducting human health risk assessments.
- Strong presentation and project‑management skills.
Expected base compensation range: $115,000 - $180,000
