Position: Electrical Engineer (Active Implantables)

Our client, a leading medical device company
, is seeking an Senior Electrical Engineer (Interventional Urology) to join their team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Engineering Department supporting Product Development, Quality, and Regulatory teams
. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem‐solving skills, and cross‑functional collaboration abilities which will align successfully in the organization. Candidates MUST have active implantable experience!

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Medical Device)

Location: Minneapolis, MN 55411 (Onsite – M-F)

Pay Range: $55- $65/hr (W2, Contract to Hire)

What’s the Job?
  • Design and develop electrical systems for active implantable medical devices
    , including schematics, requirements, and documentation.
  • Perform lab‑based testing and validation
    , using oscilloscopes, custom test platforms, and LabVIEW‑based methods.
  • Develop and execute test plans, protocols, and bench testing for new products and design changes.
  • Support design controls and regulatory documentation (DHF, verification & validation) for FDA submissions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Quality, Regulatory) to support product development and project timelines.
What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or higher).
  • 5+ years of medical device experience
    , preferably with active implantables (Class III).
  • Strong experience in analog/digital hardware design and testing
    .
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and EN standards
    , including design controls and risk management.
  • Experience with embedded systems (C/C++, Python) and electronic design tools (Altium preferred).
