Project Engineer – Polaris Off Road Vehicles
Compensation: $45–$70 per hour – paid weekly

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Project Engineer – Off Road Vehicles for Polaris located in Wyoming, MN. In this role, you will provide functional technical leadership across off‑road vehicle engineering programs, guiding design decisions that influence product performance, quality, and market success.
This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys owning engineering projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and driving high‑impact product outcomes. You’ll contribute to innovative design solutions while ensuring alignment with established engineering standards and development processes.
What You’ll Do as a Project Engineer – ORV:- Lead and influence the design of off‑road vehicle components and systems to support competitiveness, profitability, and market share goals
- Manage cost, schedule, and performance KPIs including bill of material, engineering investment (man‑months), special expenses, and tooling capital
- Develop innovative design concepts that improve customer satisfaction and support identification of new market opportunities
- Benchmark competitive products, materials, and manufacturing processes to inform design decisions
- Apply the Polaris product development process to ensure consistent and effective program execution
- Coordinate development, testing, drafting, layout, and fabrication activities to meet technical and schedule objectives
- Analyze field issues and recommend effective technical solutions; participate in design reviews and standards meetings as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in consumer product or vehicle development
- Broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures applied to complex technical challenges
- Strong creativity, critical thinking, and technical decision‑making skills
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools; experience with Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) preferred
- Customer‑focused, quality‑minded approach to engineering and design
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
