Systems Engineer – Hybrid Twin Cities (Medical Device)
Partnered with a highly innovative medical device company in the Twin Cities (NW Metro) looking to add a Systems Engineer to a critical flagship therapies platform team. This is a high‑impact hands‑on role supporting both new product development and sustaining engineering across complex, software‑enabled electromechanical systems used in ICU settings.
This team is lean and highly collaborative – you'll work cross‑functionally to help translate real clinical needs into product updates, features, and system‑level improvements that directly impact patient care. Hybrid model (3 days onsite, flexible).
Responsibilities (high level)Core systems engineering activities including translating user/clinical needs into requirements, supporting design updates and feature development, partnering with V&V on test protocols, and contributing to system integration, risk analysis, and lifecycle documentation. This role will support both ongoing product updates (HW/SW releases, issue investigation, component changes) and future platform development.
Qualifications- BS/MS in Engineering (EE, Mechanical, Biomedical, Software, etc.)
- ~4‑7 years experience, ideally in product development with exposure to systems engineering
- Experience working with requirements, product changes, and cross‑functional teams
- Background in regulated environments (medical device preferred; open to aerospace, automotive, etc.)
- Familiarity with FDA/ISO/IEC standards and QMS processes
- Exposure to V&V, testing, or test protocol development is a plus
- Strong communication skills
