Advantage Technical is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support daily production operations for a leading regulated‑industry manufacturer. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, real‑time production support, and continuous improvement work.
The engineer will own assigned manufacturing stations and equipment, ensuring stable processes, reliable performance, and consistent yields. Daily responsibilities include reviewing prior‑day performance metrics, participating in morning production meetings, and executing action items that support throughput, quality, and efficiency.
Success in this role requires strong communication, reliability, and a proactive mindset—someone who takes ownership, follows through, and keeps cross‑functional partners informed.
Key Responsibilities- Daily Production Support — Review yield, labor, and throughput signals; respond to issues and drive corrective actions.
- Process Ownership — Maintain stable, controlled processes for assigned stations and equipment.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with R&D, Quality, Process Development, Supply Chain, and Production.
- Continuous Improvement — Identify and implement improvements to yield, productivity, and process capability.
- Testing & Validation — Support basic validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), equipment testing, and documentation updates.
- Tooling & Fixtures — Assist in designing and fabricating simple fixtures and tooling.
- Troubleshooting — Investigate issues related to design, materials, or processes and recommend solutions.
- Documentation — Maintain product and process documentation; prepare standard reports.
- Training — Train operators and technicians on new processes or test procedures.
- Quality Compliance — Build quality into all work and maintain compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or related).
- 0–1 year of engineering experience (internships/co‑ops accepted).
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, equipment, or tooling.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and controls fundamentals.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to develop working theories.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated reliability, ownership, and follow‑through.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or other regulated environments.
- Exposure to OQ/PQ/PMV activities.
- Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma tools.
- Experience with MES, SAP
, or similar systems. - Basic understanding of automated equipment and controls.
- Technical Problem Solving — Uses structured methods (DMAIC, 6‑step, etc.) to resolve issues.
- Ownership & Accountability — Drives tasks to completion and communicates proactively.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset — Always learning and seeking better ways to support production.
- Ability to Learn Quickly — Comfortable learning new processes and applying feedback rapidly.
