CNC Swiss Engineering Technician – Night Shift to Serve the Medical Device Industry JOB SUMMARY

MANIFEST Technology is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Engineering Technician to support night‑shift operations by partnering closely with Engineering to coordinate production and post‑processing activities. This role is responsible for creating capable, repeatable CNC programs; optimizing machining processes; troubleshooting issues; and driving continuous improvement across Swiss and milling operations. The technician will support validations, qualifications, change control, tooling selection, and documentation while ensuring adherence to quality, LEAN principles, and HSE standards.

This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient, cost‑effective manufacturing processes and resolving daily production challenges.

Duration: Long term and ongoing

Location: Onsite:
Mon-Thu; 5pm-5am, Minneapolis area

Pay Range
: $38-$44/Hour; W2 / No C2C

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interpret print and models, create CNC programs and set up machines to produce the component for Swiss or Milling machine centers
  • Select cutting tools that will achieve cost effective tool life and fully utilize the tool
  • Develop a process that is capable, cost effective and sustainable
  • Write work instructions and procedures to support the process
  • Full understanding of G-code
  • Advocate and implement the highest quality standards and LEAN principles
  • Assess and communicate technical specifications to all departments
  • Identify and complete continuous improvement projects
  • Cycle time reduction
  • Perishable tooling selection and cost reduction
  • Create and coordinate engineering tests
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure specification compliance
  • Assist/or develop in the development of tool design and CNC programming
  • Modify through change control, BOM/BOO within the ERP system
  • Assist with all costing and quoting functions – for tooling
  • Resolve daily manufacturing issues per LEAN structure
  • Maintain machining and secondary operational processes
  • All other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in technical field
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software – preferably Solid works, NX and Esprit
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, especially word and excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex parts
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing shop environment
  • LEAN / Six Sigma training and demonstrated application
  • Experience working within an ISO 13485 environment
  • Ability to travel between client sites as needed

  • Participate upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
  • Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
  • Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
  • To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact

  • Typically sits, grasps items, and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about occasionally
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 pounds occasionally
