Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Power Distribution Equipment
Location:
Minneapolis, MN
Salary:
Up to $160,000 per annum
A growing engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of low and medium voltage power distribution equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in switch gear, switchboards, panel boards, or related electrical infrastructure products.
Key Responsibilities- Design mechanical structures and bussing for LV/MV switch gear assemblies
- Review customer specifications and develop compliant engineering solutions
- Utilize Solid Works, AutoCAD, and PDM tools for 3D design and documentation
- Support manufacturing, testing, installation, and project execution activities
- Drive design standardization, quality improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers
- 7+ years' experience designing LV/MV switch gear, switchboards, or panel boards
- Strong experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and 3D modelling tools
- Knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, and electrical power distribution equipment
- Proven project coordination and customer-facing experience
