Company Description

Kronfeld Motor Company is developing a high speed, pedal electric vehicle. The vehicle is three wheel, fully enclosed for safety and has other automotive features. We have built an alpha prototype and now we are proceeding to the beta.

Prototype Development:
We're looking for an electrical engineer who can help with design of a generator system for our prototype EV project. We’re building the beta prototype and need to create varying pedal resistance based on current draw from the battery/electrical system, not the terrain, as in a conventional bicycle (up hills, flat, downhills). We built an alpha prototype using a mechanical bicycle transmission to control resistance and need to convert it to electronic.

This is a project based job and compensation is based on completion of the system. We also need help with system control; software that varies pedal resistance based on incline/decline, manual, user set level and program profiles. Applicants must be local to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. Salary for this project job is $15,000 - $20,000. This is a side project/job for candidates and time commitment is between five & fifteen hours per week on average until the project is completed.

Applicants should have knowledge, understanding of:

• Electric motors/generators
• Motor Controllers
• PWM
• Automotive - CAN
• R&D, bench testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced degree is beneficial.
• Previous experience in automotive engineering settings is a plus.
