The CAD Manager role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing a team of CAD Designers while supporting engineering projects. This person will guide standards, improve processes, and ensure high-quality electrical design documentation, while also staying involved technically. It's a mix of team leadership, process improvement, and day-to-day CAD support in an industrial automation environment.
Key
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Lead and coordinate a team of up to 10 CAD Designers
- Support electrical design work including schematics, P&IDs, and control panel layouts
- Manage and enforce CAD standards, procedures, and best practices
- Drive efficiency improvements, including CAD automation and quality checks
- Oversee drawing control and data management using Autodesk Vault
- Provide technical support and training on CAD tools and standards
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams, including CNC integration
- 10+ years of experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
- Strong experience with UL508A control panel design (required)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across teams
