Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
This Manufacturing Engineer role focuses on serving as a subject matter expert in precision CNC machining, leading complex, high-impact engineering programs, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. The position requires deep technical knowledge in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring and guiding engineering team members on standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as a subject matter expert in CNC machining and lead high-impact engineering programs across multiple production lines.
+ Manage complex manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for process improvement, and drive implementation of enhancements.
+ Lead complex, multi-line launches, automation and robotics initiatives, and capital equipment selection to support production and growth.
+ Apply deep technical knowledge in CNC and mechanical engineering to develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes.
+ Independently identify root causes of process and quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
+ Lead, mentor, and train engineering team members on standards, best practices, and technical methodologies across the site.
+ Prioritize workload effectively and manage multiple engineering projects independently from concept through implementation.
+ Design robust manufacturing processes and oversee their implementation on the production floor to ensure repeatability and reliability.
+ Design and build fixtures and work holding solutions that support precision machining and efficient production.
+ Identify and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and communicate effectively with customers using strong negotiation skills.
+ Develop, standardize, and review complex work instructions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with requirements, while mentoring others on technical writing best practices.
+ Lead and review engineering and supplier change requests (ECRs), evaluate cross-departmental impacts, and mentor others on ECR processes and best practices.
+ Lead the design and optimization of routers and bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to standards across products.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to support successful program execution and continuous improvement.
+ Support and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing or process engineering experience in precision manufacturing.
+ Advanced knowledge of precision CNC machining, including 4-axis and 5-axis machining.
+ Strong experience in manufacturing engineering and process engineering within a precision environment.
+ Proficiency in CNC programming and optimization of machining processes.
+ Advanced knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading for complex components.
+ Advanced skill in designing fixtures and work holding solutions for precision machining.
+ Ability to translate customer and contract requirements into validated manufacturing processes and clear documentation.
+ Demonstrated success delivering large-scale process improvements or capital projects and leading cross-site initiatives.
+ Proficiency in working with an ERP system to manage routing, BOMs, and production data.
+
Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process improvement methodologies.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
+ Excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders.
+ Ability to develop, standardize, and review complex work instructions and technical documentation.

Experience with ISO
13485, ISO
9001, AS9100, or NADCAP quality management systems and standards.
+ Experience working in aerospace, medical, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
+ Strong background in routing design and optimization for manufacturing processes.
+ Experience leading automation and robotics projects in a manufacturing environment.
+ Experience selecting and implementing capital equipment to support production needs.
+ Ability to mentor and train others in engineering best practices, technical writing, and change management processes.
+ Familiarity with cross-departmental impact analysis for engineering and supplier change requests.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
