NETA Level II / IV Electrical Testing & Commissioning Technicians
US Citizenship is Required | Travel to 70% | $55 to $75 per hour + overtime + benefits + expenses
Permanent positions with a nationally recognized electrical testing and commissioning team supporting critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, power generation assets, substations, data centers, and utility projects. This role is responsible for the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspection of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical power systems in accordance with NETA standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications- NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification.
- At least 5 years experience performing testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power systems.
- Working knowledge of low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment.
- Experience with protective relays, switch gear, transformers, breakers, and power distribution systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Perform acceptance testing, maintenance testing, and commissioning of electrical power distribution equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot switch gear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, bus duct, cables, grounding systems, and associated equipment.
- Execute field testing on low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems utilizing industry-standard test equipment.
- Perform relay testing, protection system verification, functional checks, and commissioning activities.
- Analyze test results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports documenting testing procedures, findings, and recommendations.
- Support outage planning, startup activities, energization efforts, and system turnover.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and client safety requirements.
- Travel to project sites as required.
- Infrastructure, utility, industrial, power generation, renewable energy, transportation, data center, or large commercial projects.
- Commissioning and startup support for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or similar protection and control systems.
