Position: Electronics Technician (2nd Shift)

Summary

Supports manufacturing and service teams through the calibration, testing, and servicing of ACIT sensor products. Performs full‑range calibration and service duties including test setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and qualification using established procedures and recognized methodologies.

Essential Job Functions
  • Calibrate capacitive and inductive measurement systems.
  • Perform final assembly and test of finished product.
  • Perform troubleshooting of electronic circuit assemblies.
  • Perform qualification testing and report results.
  • Work with engineering on difficult or new product calibrations.
  • Maintain calibration records.
  • Drive quality and efficiency improvements in the calibration area.
  • Troubleshoot and repair products sent for service.
  • Assist in final test and calibration or setup of sensor products.
  • Perform other duties as required in support of the department and company.
Supervisor Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics strongly preferred; equivalent industry experience in calibration and electronics may be considered.
  • Basic electronics knowledge of analog and digital circuitry.
  • Understanding of electronic schematics.
  • Operations of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and waveform generators.
  • Surface mount and through‑hole soldering.
  • Troubleshooting failed circuits to sub‑assembly and/or component level in analog and mixed‑signal systems.
  • Familiarity with MS Office software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

IPC
620 or J‑Std soldering certification preferred.

Language Skills
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
Job Skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
  • Understanding and experience in lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk or hear; frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stand and walk; occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Work Environment

Clean facility with machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals that present ergonomic, chemical, and machine hazards. Hazards are controlled through engineering controls, safety policies, and PPE. PPE required includes hearing protection, safety glasses, and hand protection.

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety‑rated glasses.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.

Salary Information

Salary range between $26 and $35 per hour (guideline only). Factors considered include responsibilities, scope of work, candidate experience, education, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
