E&C Engineer

Overview A leading organization in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Project Engineer (E&C Engineer) to support capital projects at wind farms across the region. This role manages a portfolio of projects end to end from planning and budgeting through execution and closeout primarily supporting wind facilities in Southwest Minnesota, with additional sites across Minnesota, South Dakota, and nearby areas.

This is a hybrid role with strong autonomy, ownership, and cross functional collaboration. The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while meeting quality and performance standards. Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 10 12 capital projects per year supporting wind facilities
• Plan, schedule, and execute capital projects from initiation through completion
• Develop project budgets, forecasts, and multi year capital plans (H5 year horizon)
• Order equipment and manage external contractors and vendors
• Coordinate closely with site Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams to align priorities and schedules
• Perform limited research and development to evaluate and select optimal equipment solutions
• Ensure adherence to project scope, quality, schedule, and cost targets
• Track portfolio performance and report on progress, risks, and financials
• Conduct occasional site visits during construction windows to oversee installations and field execution
• Support root cause analysis, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Apply standard engineering principles to evaluate system design, reliability, safety, and cost effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred; other engineering disciplines considered)
• Approximately 3 7 years of relevant experience in engineering or project management roles
• Experience managing capital or infrastructure projects end to end
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, project execution, and contractor coordination
• Ability to work independently with minimal day to day oversight
• Strong communication skills for multi site and cross functional collaboration
• Willingness to travel occasionally to wind farm sites (
