Product Testing & Technical Services Manager - Sizing & Sorting Equipment Manufacturer

Carter Day International has been designing and manufacturing innovative sizing, separation, and sorting equipment for the agricultural and industrial processing industries for over 100 years. Our equipment is used around the world to process grain, seed, food products, and industrial materials.

We're looking for a hands‑on, mechanically minded Product Testing & Technical Services Manager who enjoys solving problems, building equipment, testing new designs, and working directly with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers.

This is not a traditional office job—and it's not a laboratory science position. You'll be working with industrial processing equipment, helping develop new products, supporting customer applications, managing equipment testing, and becoming a technical expert on Carter Day machinery.

• Managing our equipment testing and applications laboratory
• Test full load samples prior and loads the samples into the system for testing
• Connect electricity to all motors for operation
• Installing, assembling, modifying, and maintaining industrial processing equipment
• Conducting product performance testing and documenting results
• Manage and obtain samples from the clients and/or procure products from the outside
• Supporting Engineering with research, product development, and prototype testing
• Troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues
• Working with Manufacturing to improve machine designs and assemblies
• Supporting Sales by demonstrating equipment capabilities and recommending solutions
• Managing aftermarket parts sales and technical customer support
• Assisting with customer equipment startups and field service when needed
• Becoming a technical resource for Carter Day products and processing applications, learning all the grains and their separation principles and milling characteristics.

• 5+ years of experience working with industrial or agricultural equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience assembling, installing, or servicing industrial machinery
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and work with engineering teams
• Comfortable operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer startups and technical support

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required for candidates with equivalent hands‑on experience.
