Engineer-Equipment - III

Join our team in Bloomington, MN, where you can be part of a dynamic environment that supports our most reliable and fastest network. As an integral member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work onsite at our Bloomington office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

In this role, you'll collaborate with cellular engineering and operations to ensure that the equipment required for our macro cell site projects is available and complete when needed. Your responsibilities will include determining equipment needs, ordering, and integrating a wide range of equipment such as antennas, power systems, and fiber optic cable. You'll work closely with other Network teams, including RF Design, Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities, and System Performance, to implement new technologies and services and meet project milestones.

• Determining the equipment needs for new and existing cell sites based on engineering plans and project outlines.
• Coordinating the ordering and integration process to provide complete equipment sets for projects.
• Managing supplier relationships to meet targeted network milestones and turn-up dates.
• Attending project update meetings to present status updates.
• Following appropriate methods and procedures for equipment tracking and inventory control.
• Initiating Material Requests for shipment from our centralized warehouse.
• Tracking of equipment with a focus on expense reduction and just-in-time ordering.
• Monitoring all equipment expenditures.
• Ensuring vendor payment utilizing People Soft Equipment Procurement.
• Overseeing equipment installation and acceptance.
• Reviewing drawings for accuracy.
• Using Fuze to order equipment.

You should naturally share information inside and outside the company and influence people to meet your timelines. A keen interest in new technologies and services in cell site engineering is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You'll need to have:

• Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Client Office and Google Suites.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.

Even better if you have:

• Knowledge of DC power systems used in the telecommunications environment.
• Knowledge of cellular network architecture.
• Knowledge of Ericsson base station equipment, CATS/FULCRUM, Map Info, FUZE, PURCH, and People Soft.
