** Job Description*
* ** As the Practice Leader and visionary, you will contribute to CDM Smith's growth by:*
* + Advancing the CDM Smith brand to be recognized as a premier provider of Construction Management services including resident engineering and inspection, owner's advisor services, pre-construction services, risk management, start-up and commissioning.
+ Work with Discipline Leaders to advance the use of construction related technologies and software.
+ Advancing the practice through technical ingenuity, innovation, and increasing top-line sales.
+ Working in collaboration and partnership with CDM Smith's digital service providers, Trinnex, and Digital Engineering Services (DES), to accelerate the practice's adoption and use of digital tools to solve client problems and more efficiently deliver prepared instruments of service to clients; promote the development of new digital tools through ideation, incubation and governed implementation processes in collaboration with Trinnex and DES.
+ Driving year over year practice sales growth.
+ Positioning the firm technically to stay ahead of emerging marketplace challenges.
+ Collaborating with client service units to pre-position for major pursuits by identifying and showcasing our technical differentiators.
+ Partnering with sales and technical leadership to build strong relationships with clients, with the ability to work successfully across markets.
+ Leading technical luminescence activities, including conference presentations, technical papers, and webinars.
+ Recruiting and retaining top strategic technical talent and the best and brightest employees.
+ Developing, mentoring, and guiding technical specialists and discipline leaders within the practice, while driving innovative ideas in research and development.
+ Work with the Discipline Leaders to Identify technical expertise and bench strength needs to expand and support our growth initiatives.
+ Fostering continuous improvement, a culture of quality, accountability to commitments, and CDM Smith's core values, while challenging the status quo.
+ Pursuing and applying innovative technologies that give CDM Smith a competitive edge and help our clients achieve more for less.
+ Leveraging the advantages of a matrix organization to grow the firm while keeping our existing clients "CDM Smith clients."
+ Overseeing and directing the loss prevention and risk management strategies involved in the practice.
+ Collaborate with the Program Management Practice Leader to identify joint opportunities for growth and innovation.
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree.
+ 12 years of relevant experience.
+ Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Proven leadership and visionary abilities.
+ Recognized profile within the Construction Management practice as evidenced by presentations, participation in committees and societies and recognition as a subject matter expert (SME) on projects such as constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and on dispute resolution boards.
** Skills & Abilities*
* + Self-directed, motivated, mission-driven with a positive attitude.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to represent the firm to industry groups and the media on a national and international level.
+ Developer and implementer of best practices in delivery of services.
+ Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
