Entry Level Capital Projects Engineer – Renewables / Wind
Base Salary Range: $68,300 – $86,500 plus 8% Annual Incentive Plan
This entry level position is designed to develop technical expertise in a specific specialty area. The engineer performs work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features. Activities are of limited scope, requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in the narrow area of assignments. The engineer may lead small‑to‑medium, non‑critical projects and provide field oversight of critical projects under the direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor.
Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, adequacy, and accuracy. As proficiency is gained, the engineer may work on portions of larger projects, follow established procedures, and supervise or coordinate the work of interns, drafters, craft personnel, technicians, or others.
- Use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform assignments of limited scope.
- Support development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards.
- Utilize and assist with the development of procedures.
- Provide ongoing technical support for project activities in areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Testing/Diagnostics, and Regulatory.
- Provide field engineering oversight for activities such as commissioning, testing, and inspections under direct supervision.
- Coordinate or lead projects or portions of projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning, under the direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor.
- Support bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and calculations on existing documentation and materials to prepare bid documents.
- Communicate effectively with other business areas of the company following appropriate processes.
- Exchange information in all formats on matters of varying importance and complexity, both inter‑organizationally and with external customers or vendors.
- Coordinate the work of interns, drafters, technicians, and others, providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Continuously develop technical skills and competencies.
- Perform budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management in support of engineering projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency).
- 0+ years relevant engineering experience.
- Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level established and documented by the organization.
- EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) preferred.
- Experience with Renewables / Wind Energy / Turbines.
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Base Salary Range: $79,800 – $103,666 plus 8% Annual Incentive Plan
Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding and wide application of engineering technical principles. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions, receiving technical guidance on complex problems. Leads small‑to‑medium non‑critical projects or critical projects under the direction of a higher‑level engineer or supervisor. Provides guidance to other professionals and staff and represents the organization in solving difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
