Electrical Engineer - Industrial

Position Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer to design and build electrical systems for large industrial facilities, including water plants, data centers, and energy infrastructure. The role involves fast‑paced, high‑stakes engineering solution development in a collaborative cross‑disciplinary environment.

Full‑time, direct hire positions available in Denver, Kansas, Minnesota, or Houston, with contract roles available for 6 months remote from home.

• Prepare electrical engineering designs, including layout, schematics, calculations, and conceptual designs for EPC and Design‑Build projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques and criteria for medium to large industrial projects.
• Formulate technical specifications; prepare interface points with construction partners; schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel; perform bid evaluations and make recommendations for contract award.
• Review electrical requirements for new facilities and project plans.
• Perform ETAP analysis and simulation (system modeling, protection coordination, reliability studies, load flow studies, grounding integrity).
• Utilize Smart Plant for balance‑of‑plant electrical system design.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining departmental design standards and applicable engineering codes.
• Work independently on small projects or as part of a large multidisciplinary team on larger projects.
• Support RFP, Pre‑Feed, FEED, Design Build, and EPC projects across multiple markets.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution; EIT license required.
• At least 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering design for industrial facilities (e.g., chemical plants, mining/processing, power, water/wastewater, processing plants, advanced manufacturing, data centers, EV battery).
• Experience with ETAP simulation/analysis; familiarity with Smart Plant or similar design software.
• PE preferred or willingness to obtain within one year.
• Experience with FEED, Design Build, and EPC designs; familiarity with 30/60/90% completion design progression.
• Experience in field construction or startup; prior direction of junior engineers desirable.
• Regular reliable attendance; ability to meet deadlines and work overtime or weekends as required. Effective professional communication skills.

$100,000 – $150,000 per year (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set, and location).
