Electrical Project Manager – Utility-Scale Solar (Nationwide Travel)
Overview
We are seeking multiple Electrical Project Managers (3–5 openings) to lead the electrical execution of utility-scale solar and hybrid energy projects across the United States. These roles are fully field-based and responsible for delivering large, complex renewable energy projects from mobilization through commissioning and energization. Projects range from standalone solar to solar + BESS and hybrid energy developments (including data center integration), typically in the 250MW–500MW+ range.
Location& Travel Requirement
- 100% travel required (non-negotiable)
- Candidates will temporarily relocate to project sites
- Rotation schedule: 3 weeks on / 5 days off
- Project locations across the U.S.
Base Salary
- $125,600 – $170,000

- Projects may include:
- Standalone solar generation

- Hybrid infrastructure (solar + data centers or other load integration)
This role owns the full electrical scope of construction execution across major renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities Include- Lead electrical execution from mobilization through commissioning and energization
- Manage full electrical budget, forecasting, and cost control
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, and performance
- Drive electrical construction schedule adherence and field execution
- Coordinate with EPC partners, utilities, and technical stakeholders
- Manage commissioning planning and energization execution
- Support interconnection activities and utility coordination
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards
- Lead a field electrical team of 2–10 engineers and project staff
- Provide mentorship and day-to-day leadership in the field
- Report to Senior Project Management / Project Executive
- Maintain dotted-line coordination with senior electrical leadership overseeing a portfolio of projects
Candidates Should Have Strong Working Knowledge Of
- Medium and high-voltage electrical systems
- Collector systems and substations
- Utility interconnection processes
- Electrical construction sequencing and field execution
- Commissioning and energization procedures
- Subcontractor management in electrical scopes
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent hands-on electrical construction experience)
- Experience managing large-scale electrical construction projects
- Strong financial and budget ownership experience
- Field-based leadership experience
Preferred
- Utility-scale solar project experience
- EPC / design-build construction background
- Exposure to BESS or hybrid energy systems
- Commissioning and energization experience
- Understanding of utility interconnection processes

- Thrives in a 100% travel, rotational field environment
- Combines technical electrical expertise with financial ownership
- Has strong subcontractor and stakeholder management experience
- Is comfortable leading small to mid-sized engineering teams in the field
- Understands how to drive execution from greenfield through energization
- Utility-scale experience (not residential or small commercial solar)
- Proven budget ownership on large projects
- Hands-on electrical construction leadership (not purely design/engineering)
- Strong commissioning and energization exposure
- Ability to operate independently in fast-paced field environments
