** Join the team as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator where you will enhance Environmental, Health, and Safety at our Smithfield Foods location! In this key role, you will help implement policies that prioritize Worker Safety and EHS compliance. You will support the EHS Team by leveraging your knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulatory frameworks to exceed compliance standards and support our best-in-industry EHS operation.

** WHAT YOU'LL DO:

* ** EHS Program Management:
** You will support the management of location EHS programs including program updates, inspections of equipment and processes, metrics and other duties as requested. You will assist in completing applications for environmental permits to prevent a lapse in coverage.
* ** Process Safety and Security:
** You will support compliance with Process Safety Management/Risk Management plan requirements for the ammonia refrigeration system and help ensure the Site Security Plan is followed.
* ** Data Tracking and Reporting:
** You will be responsible for gathering and tracking key EHS key performance indicators such as OSHA/environmental violations, incident rates, employee turnover, workers’ compensation claims, and audit results. You will assist in reviewing and monitoring all incident investigation reports and employee exposure surveys to completion ensuring tracking and closure of identified action items.
* ** ISO Certification Support:
** You will support location ISO certification management teams and documentation control requirements. You will work with the location team to ensure conformance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs as well as support maintenance of Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) programs.
* ** Training and Compliance:
** You will help provide adequate training for production employees and management staff as required by OSHA and environmental permits. You will ensure adherence to company policies and reporting non-compliance for correction or re-training. You will support the determination of location compliance with safety processes, and environmental permits and plans including wastewater, air, storm water permits, and SPCC plan.
