Civil Drafter
This Civil Drafter role focuses on commercial site development projects, primarily in the metro area, using AutoCAD to produce and revise detailed drawings. You will work in the office full-time, translating blueprints and engineering drawings into accurate civil drafting documents, with a strong emphasis on redlining and updating plans rather than performing engineering design.
Responsibilities- Produce detailed civil drafting plans for commercial site development projects using AutoCAD.
- Review blueprints and engineering drawings and convert them into accurate drafting documents.
- Apply redlines to drawings, updating and revising plans based on feedback from project managers and civil engineers.
- Prepare and modify site development drawings, including grading and slope details.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and civil engineers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards.
- Support a variety of projects ranging from small to large scale, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables.
- Maintain organized drafting files and documentation for current and past projects.
- Adhere to company drafting standards and procedures while meeting project deadlines.
- Work on-site in the office 100% of the time to facilitate communication and coordination with the project team.
- At least 1 year of drafting experience.
- At least 1 year of AutoCAD experience.
- A 2-year associate degree in Civil Technology, Civil Technician, or a similar field.
- Experience producing civil drafting plans from blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Ability to apply redlines and revise drawings accurately and efficiently.
- Fundamental understanding of site development concepts such as grading and slope.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and civil engineers in a team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience with civil 3D or similar civil design tools.
- 2 or more years of experience in site development work.
- Experience with land development and commercial site design.
- Familiarity with site development workflows, including grading, slope, and related design considerations.
- Exposure to a variety of civil projects, from small to large scale.
The role is based in a small, tight-knit office located in Blaine, Minnesota, where you will work on-site 100% of the time. The team includes project managers, several civil engineers, and other drafters, fostering close collaboration and mentorship opportunities. The culture is laid-back and professional, with a casual dress code of jeans and polos. You will work approximately 40 hours per week while on contract, with the possibility of occasional overtime depending on project deadlines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
