Job DescriptionWSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Natural Resources Permitting Specialist / Project Manager for our Minneapolis, Minnesota office. Join our Earth & Environment Team and lead complex permitting and environmental compliance projects while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams across the Midwest.
Your Impact- Serve as Project Manager for environmental permitting and natural resources projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with biologists, environmental scientists, engineers, planners, and technical specialists.
- Develop project work plans, staffing plans, schedules, and budget forecasts to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage project financial performance, including labor utilization, invoicing, revenue forecasting, and contract compliance.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services and business growth.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and strategic planning efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to support their professional growth.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental, natural resources, or permitting projects from initiation through completion.
- 5 to 7 years of experience
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating technical resources across multiple offices and business units.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
- Experience managing environmental permitting efforts associated with energy, transportation, water resources, or infrastructure projects throughout the Upper Midwest.
- Existing relationships with regulatory agencies in Minnesota and surrounding states.
