• Support the Monticello Design Engineering Team and Capital Projects
• Work on industrial safety improvement items, including shaft guards for rotating machinery, platforms, and other industrial safety engineering requests
• Work on the site engineering document change backlog
• Improve reporting tools used by site engineers and integrate AI tools into design engineering activities
• Support early screening of outage modifications
• Engage in site troubleshooting and decision-making efforts by researching operating experience
• Research replacements for obsolete equipment
• Update site calculations
• Update lifecycle management documents
• Implement Endeavor software
- Current student, Sophomore or higher
- Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering
- Occasional travel to meet with engineers and interns at downtown facilities and sister plant (Prairie Island)
- Able to work full-time during the summer, up to 40 hours a week
- Able to work part-time during the school year, up to 20 hours a week
- Able to commute to the designated work location in-person under the hybrid work policy
- Computer/data science experience to support software and database improvement activities
- Problem solving skills
- Focus on safety
- Must be able to pass nuclear background screening for un-escorted access to the nuclear facilities
Demonstrates capabilities in industrial safety engineering, including the ability to support design engineering activities and improve reporting tools. Proficient in problem-solving and committed to safety standards within engineering projects.
