Location: Minneapolis, MN

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Varies based on the role | 6 AM - 7 PM for the event

Convention and Event Staff assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of conventions, trade shows, conferences, and special events. This is a fast-paced position requiring excellent customer service, teamwork, and the ability to stay on your feet for extended periods.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional appearance.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in events, conventions, trade shows, hospitality, customer service, warehouse, or general labor is helpful but not required.
  • Experience assisting guests, vendors, or exhibitors is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Friendly, professional, and dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the event.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, and transport event materials weighing up to 30-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in busy, high-traffic event environments.
  • Ability to perform setup, teardown, and material handling tasks safely and efficiently.
Job Duties
  • Assist with the setup and teardown of conventions, trade shows, conferences, and special events.
  • Set up tables, chairs, booths, displays, signage, and event materials.
  • Welcome attendees, guests, vendors, and exhibitors while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Support event registration and check-in by distributing badges, tickets, and event materials.
  • Provide directions and information regarding event locations, schedules, and activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe event spaces throughout each event.
  • Restock supplies, promotional materials, and refreshments as needed.
  • Assist vendors and exhibitors with event-related support.
  • Monitor assigned areas and report safety concerns or operational issues to supervisors.
  • Help manage crowd flow and provide general guest assistance.
  • Move and transport boxes, displays, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Follow all event, safety, and customer service procedures.

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
