Northmarq is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Compliance to join our Legal & Compliance team in its Bloomington, MN office to play a central role in supporting compliance across the entire organization. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), this leader will oversee a small compliance team responsible for key areas such as Agency lending compliance, broker licensing compliance, corporate compliance and regulatory compliance.
This role is critical to ensuring that Northmarq's commercial real estate activities align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. In addition, the Senior Manager of Compliance will serve as a trusted partner to business leaders by streamlining compliance processes, strengthening our platform for brokers and their clients.
- Agency And Lending Compliance
- Oversee centralized compliance activities related to Agency lending, including requirements for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, and other lending programs where the corporate compliance function provides support.
- Partner with the Legal team and Agency lending teams to streamline and centralize compliance processes, and support the coordination and completion of audits, reviews, and regulatory examinations.
- Collaborate with the Loan Servicing compliance team and Finance & Accounting to ensure alignment, strengthen controls, and support end-to-end compliance processes across business lines.
- Broker Licensing
- Manage internal and external licensing requirements for Brokerage Teams, maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and cooperative brokers, develop and manage contractual agreements, and ensure quality‑assurance standards are met. Partner closely with the Investment Sales Operations team to coordinate licensing and compliance activities.
- Oversee Brokerage Team Contracts including – Listing Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and similar documents – providing guidance on risks or concerns.
- Develop and implement a forward-looking licensing strategy for the Company, including optimizing licensing across business lines. Establish a company‑wide review and monitoring program to ensure all brokers remain compliant with state regulations and internal policies.
- Ensure Northmarq maintains compliance with requirements in all local and state jurisdictions where it operates. Responsibilities include managing formation and withdrawal filings, annual reports, business licenses, and registration fees, as well as monitoring regulatory updates and emerging compliance trends.
- Partner with external legal counsel on matters related to licensing and regulatory compliance to ensure accuracy, alignment and timely execution.
- Corporate Compliance
- Collaborate across departments to develop, update, and manage corporate policies, ensuring clarity, alignment, and consistent application across the organization.
- Partner with Technology and other internal teams on vendor management practices, including conducting compliance reviews and supporting contract assessments as needed.
- Work closely with HR and other departments to coordinate and deliver annual compliance training, ensuring required content is up to date and effectively communicated.
- Support the CCO, business leaders, and parent company in defining overall risk tolerance, and monitor and report on related risk items, including preparation of the quarterly risk tolerance report.
