Overview
Our growing international client is looking for a talented Staff Accountant. This is not an entry level role and we're looking for a few years' experience or more. This is a newly created position, open due to growth.
This position will complete both accounting and finance responsibilities, with a focus on process improvement, optimization and special projects.
This position will enable the right person to create efficiencies and improved insights into the shared services group. The position will be heavily project based, with ample communication with leaders from a variety of different groups.
Primary Responsibilities- Reconcile the general ledger
- Create and review journal entries for accuracy
- Complete monthly close
- Inventory accounting and cycle counts
- Continuously look at processes for opportunities to streamline and improve
- Perform cost benefit analysis and report results to management
- Prepare analysis, data and reporting for profit monitoring
- Work with others to evaluate spend and develop budgets and forecasts
- Complete ad-hoc analysis projects as needed
- Reporting and analysis of financials, working with business managers to drive decisions based on financial analysis.
- Work closely with the business to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve profitability and cost efficiencies.
- Minimum 3 years experience, with at least 1 year experience in a manufacturing setting
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables and Lookups are a must have)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial goals and progress to leadership
- Self-motivated with history demonstrating strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required.
- Previous inventory accounting experience strongly preferred
- Ability to commute to the office regularly
