Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
A growing advisory‑style organization is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into a client‑facing Accounting Manager role. This position blends advisory work, project ownership, and interim/fractional support—giving you the chance to partner with multiple businesses, elevate their financial operations, and make a measurable impact.
It’s a strong fit for someone who has served as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Assistant Controller and thrives in a dynamic, variety‑driven environment.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll support clients by leading or managing key accounting functions and strategic finance projects. Work may include:
- Advising clients on best practices across accounting and finance
- Leading or assisting with month‑end close (journal entries, reconciliations, tie‑outs)
- Providing oversight of ledgers, reporting systems, and internal controls
- Managing project timelines and ensuring deliverables stay on track
- Supporting cash management, revenue, expenses, and payroll workflows
- Streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency
- Coordinating external audit activities
- Developing and refining accounting policies
- Preparing monthly financial statements and management reporting
- Performing financial analysis, cash forecasting, variance reviews, and budget‑to‑actuals
- Assisting with due‑diligence work in support of acquisitions or divestitures
- Overseeing AP, AR, and payroll functions
- Leading various ad‑hoc projects designed to support client growth
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Full‑cycle accounting expertise
- Strong Excel and ERP/system proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple clients and shifting priorities
- Strong project management capabilities
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and skilled in independent decision‑making
- Enjoys working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work onsite across the greater Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area as needed
- CPA or MBA
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and integrations
- Prior consulting, fractional, or contract‑based work
This is a full‑time role with flexibility in schedule and location. Work may take place:
- Onsite at client locations
- Remotely from home
- In an office setting as needed
Some local and occasional overnight travel may be required.
