Cost Accountant

• Analyze costs and processes to identify areas of improvement that will improve efficiency and impact profitability
• Communicate with leaders outside of finance, giving financial guidance when needed
• Continuously looks for opportunities for cost reduction initiatives and process improvements. Implement process improvement strategies when appropriate
• Product costing and COGS
• Establishes standard costs and ongoing updates
• Complete monthly close and support quarterly and annual close processes
• Compare past and forecasted costs to current costs.
• Monitors results, supports initiatives to improve and maintain compliance
• Responsible for obsolete inventory and waste inventory
• Performs cost benefit analysis in order to provide guidance for cost savings
• Prepares reporting for manufacturing operations and looks to continuously enhance old and develop new business and reporting processes
• Works with plant accounting staff to validate and understand variances
• Evaluates monthly variable budget updates and spending variances
• Other duties as needed or assigned

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related area
• Minimum of 3 years related experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience with a manufacturing company
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to speak to leadership.
• Strong MS Excel skills and past work with ERP systems
• A desire to grow professionally and elevate your career
• Ability commute to a office regularly in the NW Metro
